OBSTRUCTION, An Aesthetic Experience in Art & Design // Tania Winther

Tania is a multi-media artist, designer and interiordesigner, located in Trondheim, Norway. Her creative expression finds inspiration through her interdisciplinary approach to all designs, illustrations and paintings, linocut and woodcut.

With a wide background in both the sciences and the arts, she provides the viewer with great amusement and interest.

The digital exhibition about Therapeutic Photography showcases the work of first graduated students in the field. The exhibition is held digitally in Akron Gallery and visitors are treated to a diverse range of photographs that explore various themes related to growth, self-improvement, self-exploration and well-being.

“My double exposures, triple exposures, or more are a way for me to show how I experience the world and life: like a continuous change. Everybody, everything, and every being are interdependent. The serie «forest is the temple» is illustrating a body & mind healing process thanks to daily immersion into the woods.”

Water, a collection of waterscapes, waterfalls, waterfronts, taken between Iceland, Norway, France, and Sweden. Water in its different appearances, from being a mirror, a soft curtain, a cottoncandy, a frosted glass, a rugged surface. I used various techniques of combining multiple shots, long exposure fotography, and filtering to obtain the different results you can see in this exhibition.

In an increasingly ephemeral and chaotic world consisting of confused AIs, malicious algorithms, NFTs, DLCs, doomscrolling and wayward genderpics, film (and other tactile media) offers a sense of presence in the world. Something tangible till the bombs fall.
