Digital exhibition “The writing on the wall“ // Dino Makridis
Dino Makridis (1958) bought his first Nikon camera back in 1977. He started taking pictures and established his first darkroom. Educated in England in photographic conservation of elderly photographic material. He has been working on his own projects which have never been exhibited.
Dino has worked with photography as a way of living since 1984. He worked for museums and vintage photography. Totally 35 years of service both analogue and digital with contributions of pictures to numerous books, publications and exhibitions besides his daily work.
“Structures”. Combinations of shapes and colours, with pictures taken in abandoned industrial sites, or nature.
“Rust never sleeps”. Fascinated by rust, its power over time, its impact on materials, diversity and colour pallets shaped through time, and the battle against the inevitable.
“The writing on the wall”. This is the project which Dino presents in the current digital exhibition. Graffiti, statements, wall art and murals with photographs taken all over Europe.
