Costas Sideridis was born in Athens, Greece. Then he moved to New York were he studied Architecture and later Industrial Design in Pratt Institute. As a member of Steinkjer maleri klubb, he won prizes in Midtnordisk kunstefestival and in “Vår egen høstutstilling“, Steinkjer kunnstforening.

He has two distinct methods of painting, the first is surrealistic were he draws automatically and figures appear from the lines without any premeditation. Then the drawings are painted and thous they get a second layer of meaning through the feelings generated by colour.

The other method involves realistic images which are transformed through the use of colours and shapes exploring different layers of meaning. Often details of these paintings become abstract paintings of their own.
